At Stonecreek Church we believe a small group is the best place for someone to develop friendships while learning more about what it means to grow in an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
A small group is typically made up of six to twelve people who meet regularly during the week to 
share about their lives, support one another and study biblical truths. Each group has a trained leader and can meet in a number of different locations around the North Atlanta area, including coffee shops, restaurants and peoples' homes. Most groups meet two to three times a month during evening hours. Several men's and women's groups meet in the morning. Learn more about the different types of groups available.
Absolutely not! Stonecreek's Connection Groups come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Groups are typically divided up by lifestage, location and gender as well as type of study. Also, groups are free to study the curriculum that best meets their needs. Some groups delve more deeply into Sunday's messages, some study a book of the Bible while others study a specific topic such as marriage, dating, parenting, faith, etc. The basic components you should find in all Stonecreek groups include: the study of biblical principles, care for others in the group and serving the needs of those outside the group.
Connection Groups run for 12 to 15 weeks in the Fall (September through early December) and Spring (February through April) and eight weeks over the Summer (June and July.)
The Starting Point and Crown Biblical Financial studies both run 10-weeks at a time.
The SevenOFour group for college students and young professionals (age 19 to 29) runs most every Tuesday and second Sunday throughout the year. Connect with Stonecreek SevenOFour on Facebook for the latest dates and activities.
How do I find a group to join?
We have listed all of our open groups in an online GroupFinder. Search now by city, lifestage and day of the week to find a group near you. When you find a group that might work, check the box to the left of the group and 'Submit' your contact information. The group leader or someone from the Adult Ministry office will be in touch with you within 48 hours.

Do you have to be a Christian before you attend a group?
No, you do not need to be a Christian to attend a small group. Small groups are a place where Christians and non-Christians alike can explore Jesus and His teachings together. In fact, one of the best places to ask questions and understand God's Story is in the small group study, Starting Point. Starting Point is a conversational environment where people can explore faith and experience community. Learn more.
Why do I need to attend a group when I already go to church?
At Stonecreek, we don't want you to feel like just another face in the crowd. We want you to make friends and grow spiritually. We want you to get answers to questions and study biblical truths more deeply and personally. One of our Connection Groups, or one of the next Starting Point or Crown Financial studies is the best place for this level of connection to happen. Some of our groups with infants or young children do provide childcare while others have group members make their own arrangements. We have listed in GroupFinder those that do and do not. To help fill any gaps or alleviate any issues, Stonecreek does offer Childcare Reimbursement.
Do I need to bring anything to my group?
We recommend you bring a Bible, a pen or pencil, and something to write on, but these are not requirements to attend.
Will I be called on to pray out loud during the group meeting?
Absolutely not. We understand praying out loud, especially in a group you've just met can be intimidating. We encourage the freedom to decline to pray out loud until you feel comfortable. We know that God hears us when we simply pray along "in our hearts" with others just as much as when someone prays out loud.
