Questions about Giving

What is a tithe? Isn't that just the church word for what you give to the church?

The word "tithe" actually means "one tenth." To "tithe" is to give one tenth or 10 percent of your income. The Bible teaches that 100 percent of all that we have comes from God and is completely His. He asks us to bring 10 percent of what He as entrusted to our management to the church, the place we receive our spiritual guidance and covering. In His generosity, He provides for us to keep 90 percent. A tithe is 10 percent. Giving more than the 10 percent standard would be considered an "offering." (Malachi 3:8-10; 1 Chronicles 29:11; Matthew 6:21) To learn more about what the Bible has to say about money, finances and stewardship, register for the next Crown Group Launch.

Will I receive a record of my contributions?

Yes. Stonecreek periodically mails its contributors statements as well as an annual Record of Contributions for charitable giving tax purposes. Records of Contribution will be mailed to your home address.

Is online giving secure?

We've taken steps to ensure that the giving process is safe and secure from beginning to end. All your giving data is secured by SSL encryption. SSL is an acronym for "Secure Socket Layer," a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. It is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as Amazon.com to keep your information safe and secure during transactions.

How can I learn more about what the Bible has to say about money and finances?
